Monitoring Hardware for Diesel Generators
Key operational parameters are tracked using both standard and additional sensors, such as fuel level and flow sensors, which communicate through a Modbus RTU data converter.
The genset monitoring system comprises various measurement equipment, including:
- Fuel level sensors
- Fuel flow meters
- I/O modules
- Modbus RTU converters from the genset controller
- CAN bus readers from the engine's J1939 data bus
- Telematics gateway
All sensors and the genset controller are interconnected via a J1939/S6 interface or through wireless S7 Technology.
The telematics gateway, also referred to as a tracking or telematics unit, compiles reports on generator performance based on the collected data and transmits this information over the Internet (2G, 3G, LTE) to a web-based software platform. Additionally, diesel generator parameters can be monitored locally on a CAN display or the genset controller screen.

Remote Generator Monitoring Online
The operational parameters of the genset engine and alternator are measured and transmitted in real-time. The web-based monitoring and management platform provides users with current parameter values for individual generators, groups, or entire fleets.
This platform enables users to review genset performance over selected periods and generate analytical reports on fuel consumption, power output, engine workloads, and more. It is accessible 24/7 from PCs and smartphones with an Internet connection.
